ClinSpark version 1.4.2 Released

The Foundry Health team is excited to announce the latest release of its eSource software platform for Phase I automation.  This version contains enhancements over version 1.4.1 released earlier this year.

ClinSpark has been improved to better support customers deploying ClinSpark in situations of so-called satellite sites, and/or situations where local hospital patients may want to be enrolled in a study.  Additionally, system logic has been enhanced to ensure that users are presented with data that is intended only for their eyes, based on established site and study configurations.

Sites can enroll subjects with a basic set of demographic and study details.

Version 1.4.2 also adds capabilities supporting workflows pertaining to specimen interval collections. ClinSpark now supports interval collection where subjects may reuse the same specimen container throughout interval timeframes, instead of having a new container being used each time a sample is collected.  Interval container management and collection workflows are still supported by the use of barcode scanning functionality, to ensure that the right collection container goes with the right subject and interval collection period.

Users can manage void containers across multiple subjects and interval timeframes.

Another exciting feature is the expansion of advanced volunteer database querying capabilities through the use of a new feature called “Volunteer Search Functions”. This feature allows Foundry Health to work with our customers to define custom advanced volunteer searches. These arbitrary search functions can be very complex in nature depending on the business requirement, but once established, allow users to benefit from the pre-defined search logic.

Search functions have the flexibility to be defined and used across a variety of use cases.

There are many more exciting enhancements in version 1.4.2.  We’ve added improvements to data collection workflows, study setup eligibility mapping, sample processing, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer management.  Customers will have access to the full set of release notes and technical file artifacts through our official support channels.

ClinSpark® enjoys a rapidly growing user base. The feedback and needs of users is of crucial importance and there is a direct dialogue between them and the ClinSpark® development team. The agile development approach ensures fast and effective solutions built into a continuously improving product. The enhancements seen in version 1.4.2 are therefore of real practical benefit to Phase I units.
